Ticketmaster, the event-ticket retailer whose monopolies on venues and exorbitant fees are legendarily evil, has somehow garnered nearly 157,000 fans on Facebook. And by "somehow" I mean "created thousands upon thousands of fake accounts." At least that's according to the East Village Idiot, who did some digging and turned up some obvious fakesters, like the hilariously misspelled "Stebe Jobs." Look for Stebe to accumulate thousands of fans of his own as desperate Apple fanboys friend the account to show their undying faith in the real Jobs's techno-cult.

I'm sure some of them are real. I know that I was a 'fan' of Ticketmaster for about a week because they gave me a free album of my choice on iTunes for being their friend. As soon as I got my credits, I totally ditched them and went to hang out with the cool kids.
I trust Facebook only slightly more than I trust Ticketmaster.
Lets just say "I have serious trust issues" and leave it at that.
You might even say I'm anti-trust.
I doubt ticketmaster created them. People who weren't facebook users probably just created an account in order to take advantage of the free iTunes promotion a while back, and used obviously fake names do to so.
