I am very disturbed and offended by the photograph with the post.
PSA 182 was at the time the worst Air Disaster in US History.
It was a flight from Sacramento to L.A. to San Diego.

135 people died.
135 Californians.

Many people had loved ones on the flight, people still living in NorCal, and SoCal.
I realize it was 30yrs ago already, maybe it was even before Jackson West was born, so he doesn't care, it means nothing to him, but I feel that the tragedy is being trivialized, and it's rather disturbing.
I remember the accident, and the horror of it all. It's still horrifying to this day. I froze up a bit when I saw the picture.

I just wonder if, you know, many people today are too young to remember that tragedy, born after 1978, so photos like that will appear. It's irrelevant to their lives, just old history. But it's not *that* old.

It was suggested to me that since the owners of Google own their own jet, that, "at some point if you're going to show the Google Jet crashing, you're going to show a plane going down in flames."

Could it not have been an illustration?
Something not real and connected to real people's lives?
Especially in California. The tragedy affected Californians from North to South. And if the real Google jet went down with Google executives and employees on board, nobody would be laughing, I assure you.

Please, in the future, think twice about the images you use. The use of this photo was extremely poor judgement.

My parents lost friends in that PSA crash. My father, a former pilot for PSA, may have been scheduled to fly that, but had a torn ligament and was on sick leave. It is offensive that you are using that image. I believe it is also copyrighted by the San Diego Union Tribune, as this was an image published in the then San Diego Union the day after the crash. Did VW get permission to use the photograph and alter it? Please remove this photo as it is offensive to those of us in CA connected to the incident.

in defense of Valleygirl: this photo comes from Fucked Google and has been used by it (and in reference to it) many times before. No one is belittling the victims of the crash, but the use of the pic is appropriate given its the logo used by Fucked Google. As Valleygirl says: take it up with FG.
