I recently reported on blogging secrets of the stars. But as a Valley worker, you may end up blogging on your company's site, not your own. Corporate blogging is very different from personal blogging, regardless of what The 250 will tell you for a small fee. So I created this stack of product-managerese slides on how to write a company blog worth reading.

++value or value++, paul?
Missing obligatory "CONFIDENTIAL!!!" footer. Otherwise, you rock, dude.
Paul can we SEO our 250 ranking? More slides.
Whenever I see lists of bullet points, I instinctively skip. 100 word version, please.
Nice preso, but this is Valleywag, non? Where's the speculation?
@philosophygeek:
"Joe Spolsky doesn't get it."
The fact is, Joe doesn't get it. But nobody will tell him to his face, so Paul is just being passive-aggressive here. What's a presentation without some dramatic tension, eh?
@sample032: See slide 21, wisenheimer.
how did 3 steps turn into 22 slides?
@Paul Boutin: Any idiot can bullet point, but when I see a Paul Boutin piece, I expect writing, even if it's only 100 +/- 5 words.
I thought it was going to be a joke, but there are some nuggets and great advice in there - most of which I find impossible to adhere to.
I write pieces that are too long and written at too high a grade score, and I pontificate. And, I only have 12 RSS subscribers, no...make that 21.
I'll never make it in the business unless I wear a hat and move to Minneapolis - queue Mary Tyler Moore theme.
"Who alone can make it with her smile?"
paul pwns.
he didn't even mention his article is the front of the new york times biz section today. that's humble to the point of being ill.
good read. thank u for sharing with us
I'd love to share this but the fact is, it would cut the floor out from my market, so I'm fucking burying it. Sorry Paul.
Oh Kyle, you're not 250 and you know it. :)
