Layoffs at eBay and PayPal?

In the last 24 hours, we've heard that eBay has laid off 40 members from its bloated middle-management ranks and that its PayPal subsidiary has let its entire branding department go. Has Wall Street already gotten word of these cutbacks? We all know how much the market loves "fat trimming," and EBAY is up nearly two points so far today. (Photo by AP/Tony Avelar)

I hear there is a level of fat that could be readily trimmed within the corporation and it would not signify a major problem. This can be said of any company of their size. Probably not much of an issue but time will tell.

Yeah, there was a minor layoff. On the PayPal side, it was all of branding and a "re-org" for the user experience team, loosening a handful of folks.

How accurate! PayPal actually does have a very bloated management team! They should of "cleaned-house" years ago. Their ued department is one of the worse ever!
