What happened?
OOoooh that sucks. I thought she seemed bothered tonight :( I hope that things will get better soon!
Conde Nast must have a problem with their staffers doing street breathalyser tests.
Well folks, we can see here that Wired management has there head up there ass. Just look at that rack to waistline proportion. Even with the partial photo, you know she's got that Miss New Booty in back. Let's be real, we'd all hit it.
@aedwards000 yuck!
Megan is a talented writer with an awesome career ahead of her. The best part about Megan is that she is a journalist who does not try to make herself the story. She's quite famous in Germany too.
@sarahm: So she's the David Hasselhoff of journalists?
I'm too entranced by her boobs to make an intelligent comment. Gotta jump in the snow now..
That's a bummer, not surprising though. Most publishers are socially maladapted tyrants. Not a fun business to be in.
If I can make an observation...I never read more than one or two paragraphs of anything Megan wrote, because I wasn't ever able to find anything she wrote that was any longer than that. Combined with the fact that her career seemed to hinge upon "how cool, where, and with whom" (not to mention hedging against cirrhosis), I can say I'm only surprised at how short her career at Wired was, not that it ended.
Of course, maybe I'm getting this all wrong, so feel free to correct me.
whaaaa? wtf happen? that's a bummer :(
Hope she comes back to us here!
Weird. Would love to get the inside scoop-- even in journalism, that's a fast exit.
I hope she's not tired after getting fired. Personally I think the magazine staff conspired. This can't have been desired, and seems truly uninspired. Has anyone inquired?
@Mithel: After reading your post, I perspired.
Stay classy, San Francisco.
you call this a story? one more like this and im coming to valleywag HQ with a flamethrower
(moar words pls)
I blew a .23 into that breathalyser. Someone should've fired me.
@andyfox1979: It's people like you who are why Valleywag doesn't have an HQ.
That's awful. Owen, hire her now!
i've been a big fan of megan's writing both at valleywag and later at wired. i think she has a great knack for finding the interesting scoop (eg. sched.org @ sxsw), getting the complete story, fact-checks and all, and reporting it all in an engaging and creative way (eg. the "breathalizer" idea was awesome). in my opinion, it's wired's loss and other news concerns should be looking at this departure as an opportunity to hire some phenomenal talent. that and she's got a great personality to boot.
Owen, what happened? I want some facts. Now.
What's with the journalistic Maginot Line? Don't these turrets point in, as well? We want to know what's going on with a talented, attractive, interesting woman's life for a change!
She was way better on that MTV show, anyway.
Megan doesn't afraid of anything.
Fools! I would keep her just for that rack. That is about as good as it gets. Call me;-)
