In which Wikipedia's chief non-expert Jimmy Wales worries that Larry Page and Sergey Brin will be able to read their instant messages, talks dirty about broadband infrastructure, and says his "Google killer" startup Wikia needs to make him enough money so he can buy a jet where he and Canadian girlfriend Rachel Marsden can have even more sex. Friends claim that Wales, worried Marsden would leak the chats, threatened her with blackmail charges over the transcripts, and talked about jail time and deportation back to Canada for her. That got her so upset she sent copies to one or more friends. They've landed in our inbox. Good job, Jimbo. The best bits:

@abatardi: I'm sorry, the disciplined golden-boy of open information, who's an objectivist liberal, dating a lying, sociopathic, far-right wing convicted criminal, cleaning up her wikipedia page for her--a source of the "open information" he loves so much--and making sure no reference of her ever appears on his page (or the fact that he's getting divorced when it says he's still married) is of no interest? That he then tried to blackmail her to keep the relationship secret is also not worth reporting?
It's not trashy journalism just because there's talk of sex. Trashy journalism is no substance--with a veil of sex over that nothing to make people read it. This is substantative journalism where sex is involved.
I threw up in my mouth while reading this. Whether it was from envisioning jimmy in a 'marathon' or trying to comprehend goog as a wikipedia 'competitor' is an exercise left for the reader.
Deportation to Mississippi would have been more effective.
