Gene Simmons lawyer confirms sex tape's authenticity

No longer his secret When GenesSecret.com burst upon the scene on Tuesday, we questioned whether it really featured Kiss bassist Gene Simmons, or just a lookalike. The revolution of the gossip culture wrought by the Web has transformed the consumption of celebrity lives. Since Paris Hilton went exposed, we're awash in fake sex-tape videos. But Simmons's own lawyers have now confirmed that the video on GenesSecret.com is the real deal. The pantsless, T-shirt-wearing man in the video is in fact Simmons, in a cease-and-desist letter they sent to Valleywag.

The short clips we posted are newsworthy and will not be taken down. But the letter itself is informative. In it, Simmons's lawyers say that the video was filmed by Traci Anna Koval, and that a company Allied Industry bought the rights from her in 2003. Is Koval the woman in the video, referred to as "Elsa" by GenesSecret.com? Unclear. Here's the letter:

@sample032: I can't believe I'm weighing in on this, but Dee Snyder never took himself seriously. He was hilarious on Letterman in the 80s, joking about audiences cringing from the "220-pound man in eyeliner" leaping at them from the stage. He said we wouldn't feel truly successful until he heard "We're Not Gonna Take It" played by a high school marching band.

@Paul Boutin: I can't believe I'm saying this, but I didn't realize Cobain's comment that you're not really successful until Weird Al parodies your work echos Dee Snyder.

I'm going to say I was mostly out of it in the 80s, but maybe Dee Snyer always knew what Gene Simmons still doesn't.

It does not surprise me to see this. Gene Simmons has been showing on his show "Family Jewels", how much he likes marketing and promoting himself and KISS to amy means. I feel for Shannon, especially since she has been with him so long. In my opinion he is very arrogant and self centered especially when promoting himself and I have no doubt that it is Gene and it was done to promote himself as a "stud". I personlly find nothing attractive about him and his "smeckle" isn't all that. "Gene-there are other ways to promote yourself without whoring yourself out and disrespecting Shannon, Nick and Sophie".

It all looks very perfunctory - Traci/Elsa (Shawna?) clearly can't stand him. It has the look of an audition to me - maybe he was planning to get into the adult film business - Kiss Productions produced by Gene Simmons, directed by Gene Simmons and starring Gene Simmons - and he personally conducted all the screen tests! But if anything could put you off sex, this is it. He is so Goddam ugly and unappealing.

So if it isn't him... they have really got nothing to bring a case with (except maybe the stupid KISS logo crap)

If it really is gene simmons, then I feel sorry for shannon and all other females that he has been with... cause it sure don't look like he has the big dick that he has lead people to believe that he has..... he might even be too small to be average.....

What a putz. No wonder he is still with shannon... apparently with her, size doesn't matter.
