Yahoo Europe layoffs start today

SadhooU.S. and India, Yahoo HR is now working its way to Europe. A tipster writes in:

I have heard that the entire Dublin Finance team was laid off, to be outsourced by some place in Romania. Europe learns who gets axed tomorrow (Friday, Feb. 15) — let's hope Rich Riley is among them, but unlikely as he is another Jeff Weiner - completely golden.
Riley, the founder of Log-Me-On.com, a startup Yahoo acquired in 1999, started running Yahoo's relationships with advertisers and publishers in Europe in October. Sounds like there are stories waiting to be told about him.

  • You're half-wrong as usual (ah, wait, not you, your "tipster"). Eng. in Italy "learned" it wednesday, eng. in Spain learned it yesterday (2 + 6 afaik), same as a team in UK. Most of IT and ES eng. was offered to move to (fucking) Grenoble, some already agreed. Some in UK are moved to a different team. All who leave will get compensation and some of them are very good friends who will take our love with em.
    France and Germany seem to be untroubled by the boot.

  • Fail, as usual. Some "learned" in wednesday, most yesterday, maybe some more to come today.

    @fdsa:

    "I have heard that the entire Dublin Finance team was laid off, to be outsourced by some place in Romania. Europe learns who gets axed tomorrow (Friday, Feb. 15)"

    "Fail, as usual. Some "learned" in wednesday, most yesterday, maybe some more to come today."

    I see no contradiction in what the source said and what FDSA said.

    Only Ted can say fail and not look like a wannabe uncov writer, but saying fail when there's no fail? I'll let Ted handle this one.
