While accusing Yahoo News GM Amy Iorio of tiresome nepotism, our last tipster said Iorio's sister, Denise Iorio "has no clearly defined job function and doesn't work on any distinct property." Seems Yahoo caught on. Denise Iorio caught the sharp end of the ax yesterday, a tipster tells us. Friends and neighbors, that means you shouldn't believe her when she says she's on an extended maternity leave.

Remember when George Costanza convinced everyone in the office he was a hardworking "get'er'done" type of guy by simply looking angry? Same deal here.
Parking in maternity spots? Busy!
Walking out of department all-hands meetings, Crackberry in hand, concerned look on face? Important!
Having your private driver park your Range Rover in a handicap parking spot because it's the absolute closest spot to the front door, and then leaving it there all day whilst having said driver wipe it down with a dust rag? Busy! Important! And possibly concerned with allergies and assassination attempts!
Funny thing is, Yahoo is filled with Execs this arrogant. I recall when Hillary Schneider raised quotas 25% the last day of the sales quarter, at 5 PM. Classy and professional
Let's hope Jerry's plan goes like this:
* Step 1: get rid of bottom 5-10% of performers in rank-and-file.
* Step 2: get rid of bottom 90-95% of VP's.
All of which of course will make them even more attractive to Microsoft. Cleaning up before the merger so that the new owner doesn't have to play the heavy is standard operating procedure I think.
Of course if this has any chance of working MS needs to be doing some house cleaning too. Waiting for the nervous Nellies to leave on their own is not always the best selection process.
Good that Yahoo caught on to Denise, but why haven't that noticed AMY has NO clear job function?
At least Yahoo will now save on their hay bill with one Iorio gone. Or maybe the funds will go to paying Amy's husband to "consult." Which is really code for "can't find a real job."
