Medical examiners have released results of Heath Ledger's toxicology report earlier today. The young star died of an accidental overdose — an "acute intoxication" — from the combined effects of hydrocodone, diazepam, temazepam, alprazolam, doxylamine and oxycodone. The latter is the active substance in Silicon Valley's drug of choice, OxyContin.

Damn. That boy must have had some major pain going on to have all that in him.
Heath was just about to send me a term sheet with a pre-money valuation of $40M and a 1x liquidation preference before he died. Damn.
The guy was a pill freak. Hopefully this will end the beatification process that seems to have started before they moved his body to the morgue.
Really? Valleywag has had its share of lame posts lately, but this one just might take the cake. This one is really stretching it.
I had three of those in me during one extreme kidney stone episode. I emphasize "extreme". Ouch. I can handle the minor stones with not much assistance. He must have been an Elvis-esque pill-popping celebrity.
@JReed: I'm shocked you didn't just say "Meh," as you did in your last half-dozen or so comments.
The drug in his system was not necessarily Oxycontin. It could have been Percodan or Percoset or a variety of other drugs.
Oxycodone was found in his system.
@JReed: I agree wholeheartedly. Valleywag is teetering on the precipice of being banished from my newsreader. Watch your step Valleywag.
@Owen Thomas: Meh, me too. I dunno, I guess my objection to this one is just how big of a stretch it is.
What's next? "Celebrity dies in Mercedes. Steve Jobs drives Mercedes!"
PS- I only found three comments with the word 'meh', and all of them were followed by an explanation/followup thought.
he sure knew a lot about science
