There's no place like the colo for the holidays

Do you think the Internet runs itself today? Here's to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. Here's to the sysadmins. • That's an awfully clean collocation bay. The ones I frequent have cement block walls, drafty HVAC, chain link cages, coffee cups and candy bar wrapper strewn about, and some jackass outside server sitter admin, curled up in the fetal position in a cage across the way, more sub wrappers or pizza boxes.

We were literally the last house before the seasonal closing, a mile from any other place and there seemed to always be three foot of snow on the ground, but the electricity kept flowing.

It's been years since I've wintered in Maine and the holiday weather is a little warmer here, but I agree that hats off to the power companies and to those who keep it going, especially in the non-forgiving locales.

  • They're even lined up in order of importance. Pretty girl first, old fat man blurred out at the back...

  • and no credit for ripping off an apple ad either?
