Guy Kawasaki's news project, Truemors, is an interesting idea. A user submits a rumor, whereupon other users vote the story up or down. The service owes something to Digg, the popular tech news site; and something to Rumor Monger, a skunkworks project at Apple when Kawasaki, now a blogger-cum-investor, worked with the company. For a traditional gossip purveyor such as Valleywag, the systematic pooling of rumors might appear threatening. But, if the top headline on the dummy Truemors is any indication — Cisco is kicking butt! — there's little to worry about.
