In the midst of this week's serious-minded and notably glitz-free pitch to advertisers, Yahoo debuted a strange and worrisome creature — "Gus the Gopher," a CGI rodent in a purple Yahoo sweater that demonstrated how to use Yahoo's mobile offerings. Gus apparently has no relation to the eponymous gopher of Two Ton Baker fame, and it's unclear why he was trotted out during the ad meeting. Or why he, you know, exists at all. Developing, unfortunately.
