I thought all the Kleiner Perkins legends were off saving the world. John Doerr, though still nominally at the venture capital partnership, with Al Gore, a revolution in healthcare, and the Segway; Vinod Khosla, with ethanol, and a proposed tax on evil oil companies. But the Valley is back, so the world can wait. In the news that Slide, Max Levchin's photo slideshow app, has raised another big round of funding: Khosla Ventures is one of the investors. Although the outfit has been in the works a couple of years, this is the first big investment.
